The 2nd Annual Operation PROP flying event is on for Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Stennis International Airport in Kiln, MS from
10 a.m. – 2 pm. We will again be offering airplane rides for our guests with disabilities, wheelchair softball (we will have sports chairs available so that anyone can join in the game), arts, crafts and lunch will be provided. U.S.M. will provide the Imagination Playground, an all inclusive opportunity for everyone.
He’s coming back! Warren Cleary, Skydiver Extraordinaire, will be returning to do a demo jump on site. We are working to facilitate again the opportunity for tandem skydiving Saturday later in the afternoon at Gold Coast Skydiving in Lumberton. That’s right, you can jump out of a perfectly good airplane. There will be a cost for this but all other activities are FREE thanks to our sponsors.

Operation PROP attended Mobile's AeroFest March 20-21!
Linwood Nooe, Operation PROP President, volunteered as an Aviation Coordinator for the AeroFest in Mobile, Alabama, Friday March 20 and Saturday, the 21st. It is a huge event with thousands expected to attend. The annual 2-day event is a celebration of Live Music, an Independence Ride, 14 Titan FC MMA bouts, an Interactive Arts Festival, Hero Games, CrossFit Challenge and more honoring our nation's military service members. ALL profits will support the physical, emotional, and adaptive needs of our nation's injured Veterans.
A big part of the event is to showcase technology to assist our wounded veterans. Operation PROP will have a light sport airplane flown in by a LA veteran using hand controls. He took a sniper bullet to the neck and despite paralysis obtained his light sport license. He would like to move up to General Aviation and possibly fly commercially, but he can't because the hand controls Operation PROP is trying to get back into production are not presently available. Operation PROP will also have a Cessna there with these same hand controls.
YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS!!!!
The AeroFest Operation PROP plot thickens in a very big way. Mr. Smith is a Vietnam combat helicopter pilot (AH-1 Cobras) who was later paralyzed in a helicopter collision with misplaced wires. His story is unreal in terms of his ability to overcome adversity and maintain his status as pilot.
His is connected to Mr. Gary Sinise, the actor, as Michael was the paralyzed pilot who flew him to Big Bear Mt, California after he had left Washington D.C., where he received an award for playing the role of Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump some 20 years ago. When Mr. Smith landed the aircraft after talking with Sinise during the whole flight about Forrest Gump, a wheelchair was rolled out to the tarmac. Mr. Sinise asked Michael who that was for and he told him it was for him and that he is a paralyzed vet still in a commercial pilot status.
Here's the best part...Mr. Smith will drive from Houston to be a part of Operation PROP's activities at AeroFest, and yes, Gary Sinise will be there too!
